Breaking into the summer and soon-to-be a new
routine, let's have a sweet playlist filled with smiles and fun this rotation =]
A
Animal Star by atticFrom Jun's solo project after Phantasmagoria, he shares a very fun, rock-n-roll side reminiscent of hide (of X-Japan). You wouldn't expect either of these guitarists to have this sound when listening to their respective bands.
This is true for the rest of this rotation too! You'll be surprised at what you may find =)

Baby Don't Cry by Daesung (of Big Bang)Clouds break away and sun rays make their way towards you as soon as you hear these sweet words. Added to the special edition of Big Bang's Tonight album (found in Audio), Daesung shines in his solo track with strong, soothing vocals.
〈 R&B • Korean • dream〉
C
Concerto Grosso No12 by George Friederic HandelUnlike your typical classical song, this is a special rendition from the Venezia Chill Out album (available in the Leftovers page). Relaxing and symphonic indeed.
〈 Classical • Instrumental 〉
D
Diggin' On You by TLCBringing back some '90's in this mix =D
Besides listening to the lingo in amusement, the laid-back beat is very enjoyable, very 'arms folded behind my head, feet kicked up over the front seat, and hair waving through the summer breeze' kind of song.
〈 hip-hop/R&B • English • 90's 〉
E
Everlasting Light by The Black KeysMight have an old-school ring, but this song is from their 2010 album with an ingenious Black Keys album cover. Vocals are faint with incremental guitars; good background music to work in or drive to.
〈 Alternative • English • radio 〉
F
Fallin' by Epik HighRegrettably, their site (mapthesoul.com) is still not working. Until they produce more epic music, we have alluring tracks like this to fall in love with. Obsession almost drips out of this song, sounding like an onslaught of melody leading into a concentrated spiral of ... ? Perhaps it's a reflection of Tablo and Mithra sinking deeper and deeper into work-aholism. Great progression, steady beat, and a general must-have for your mp3 player.
〈 hip-hop/R&B • Korean 〉
G
Gone by Nelly (featuring Kelly Rowland)This their first duet "Dilemma" matured into a blissfully nostalgic part II upgrade. Awesome summer jam. And they look amazing in the video, just fyi. XD
〈 hip-hop/R&B • English • radio 〉
H
Henna by Cameron Cartio (featuring Khaled)Khaled made this song popular in the Arab world, and Cameron re-released a Spanish version for European popularity. Though a few years old now, it's still a good song fitting the atmosphere of festive summer nights along beach shores with plenty of foods and friends around.
〈 hip-hop/R&B • Spanish • Arabic • dance 〉
I
I's by xTRiPxThe 2nd rock song on this playlist, yet I can't classify this as purely rock since xTRiPx is a very experimental band. They can sound as mellow as baroque sometimes, are generally a mix of pop rock, and in this song the vocalist raps. A decent refresher for your playlist.
〈 系 / J-ロック • Japanese • new wave 〉
J
Just Can't Get Enough Remix, as uploaded by ToNksI did not realize this was the Black Eyed Peas on the radio. But when you listen to this dubstep remix, it doesn't even matter who's singing or what they're saying XD
If you have never listened to dubstep before, or good dubstep for that matter, then I'll warn you: the bass and hook of regular old songs may never be the same again.
〈 Dubstep • English • bass 〉
K
胡蝶蘭/Kochyouran by alice nine.Nothing better than this simple, sweet tune to start up a bright new day. Rainbows is my favorite release by alice nine., and this is the easy-going track from a rockin' single.
〈 ☮ • Japanese • sunshine 〉
L
La boulange by Yann TiersonQuite an eccentric song for 'Baking', yet if you've ever watched a master pastry chef you know they are in the business of creating art. As is this pretty tune. =]
〈 Violin • Instrumental 〉
M
Messle Khodet by Kamran & HoomanKamran is the same Cameron from the "Henna" song above; this is his later music produced with his brother. Both were in a successful Persian band called Black Cats, but as this song shows, their music is very up to date. Suited for the night scene, the beat is nice enough to thrum to.
〈 Pop • Farsi • dance 〉
N
Napoleon Says by PhoenixA silly song. A very silly song. Part of the spunk and attitude I like about this French band.
〈 Alternative • English • amusement 〉
O
One In A Million by Ne-Yo.One of my favorites off his 2010 Libra Scale album, which was overall a solid production. The Michael Jackson style is notable in this track, but the sweetly sung words are very much Ne-Yo's own fashion.
〈 R&B • English ♔ dance 〉
P
Pure Imagination as in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate FactoryAh, what summer dreams playlist would be complete without
chocolate I meana classic movie that helped thousands of un-Charli-fied minds see how chocolate was really made.
〈 Soundtrack • English • imagine 〉
Q
七里香/qi li xiang by Jay ChouCurrent king of the Taiwanese pop scene, as his reign of pop compositions continuously become mainstream, Jay Chou manages to produce a beautiful ballad or two in every album. This is "classic" Jay, which tends to be better than any of his post-Still Fantasy songs. 'Qi li xiang' is a name for Orange Jasmine, a flower, and also the name of Jay's album. This is an instant favorite of any Jay Chou fan.
〈 Pop/R&B • Mandarin • flowers • Chinese ballad 〉

Rasa Ini by VierraReminds me of an ending theme to a Japanese anime, perhaps a Korean drama, but in Indonesian. The vocalist's voice is very soft and delicate. I really loved the first track I ever heard from them ("Perih") so I checked out more from their My First Love album. By clicking on these 4shared links, you can discover other uploads TJ Lee has in his collection.
〈 R&B/Pop • Indonesian • alternative 〉

スロウレイン/Surourein by ACIDMANNice tune for cruising. I love the mellow, raspy voice and the guitars and drums cheering alongside. I think ACIDMAN is usually a solid choice for alternative background music.
〈 Alternative • Japanese • pop/rock 〉
T
Take Care of Love by Fire IslandSounds like breezy winds and jungle drums, dj-ed to an urbanized scratch. Part of a four part compilation called 100 Beats Chilled.
〈 Ambient • vocal-less 〉
U
ウキウキメープル通り by SONOMIThe title's meaning eludes me, because though I can read the katakana (ukiukimepuru), it makes no sense to me. Maybe an uki-maple? SONOMI's style seems to be very laid-back. In particular, this song is like Japan vacationing in the Bahamas. A melodic care-free-ness.
〈 J-Pop • Japanese • vacation 〉
V
Veilofmaria -Upper Region version- by SatsukiAnother airily (and drummer-ly?) exotic song with high pitched string instruments to match the songbird voice of Satsuki (ex-RENTRER EN SOI). This song is probably unlike anything you've heard before; Satsuki is striving to be as unique as possible with his new solo act, imo.
〈 Visual 系 / J-ロック • Japanese/English ♔ different 〉
W
我信心/wo xin xin by Jane ZhangJane has a powerful voice that won her many talent shows and her rising stardom in China. (She sang the Chinese version of "Wavin' Flag" with Jacky Cheung for the 2010 World Cup.) You can hear how well she uses her voice in this song. The title means 'I Believe', the style is very American-pop. The wholesome feeling of this song has easily earned its way on my favorites list.
〈 Pop • Mandarin • uplifting 〉
X
Xiao Jiu Wo [小酒窩] (ft. Ah Sa) by JJ LinJJ's duet with one of the girls from the famous Hong Kong pop duo, Twins. I like this original Mandarin version better, because they both sound smooth and sweet. His Cantonese version isn't bad, but I can tell it's not his native language.
〈 C-Pop • Cantonese 〉
Y
雲/wan/yanEven though this song is in Cantonese, I listed it with a Mandarin pinyin here. Justin Lo is a talented musician, but he has yet to settle into an image to call his own. Of all the songs I've heard from him, this is one that suits him best I think. Not very different from typical Canto-pop, but he's not forcing himself to sound like something he's not here. A light pop ballad true to its title of 'Cloud'.
〈 C-pop • Cantonese • ballad 〉
Z
zaiki kuzushi/ 罪木崩しTo complete a light, summery playlist I must include シド. One of my favorite bands, SID consistently provides upbeat tempos, snazzy guitars, and Mao's meltingly seductive vocals.
